About Streamline Telecom

Streamline Telecom is a NYC-based Information and Communications Technology contractor and integrator that provides a wide variety of services to commercial properties throughout the region, including:

History

Streamline Telecom started in 2006 as Nolan Contracting Corporation.  The founder, Sean Nolan, was at that time working as a team leader at NYC electrical contractor G-Systems Inc.  With the support and encouragement of his former employer, Sean started doing data cabling work part-time while continuing to work at G-Systems.  By 2012, his fledging business had grown to the point that it required his undivided attention, so he made the decision to leave G-Systems.  He changed the name of his business to Streamline Telecom, hired his first full-time employee, and began working as a subcontractor for Peace of Mind Technologies and Unified Global Services.

Projects

Right from the start, Streamline Telecom has worked on major projects for some of the most recognized institutions in the city.  Our first two projects were installing campus-wide access systems at Queens Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital.  While working as a subcontractor, we have completed projects at Yahoo, Kaufman Studios, Michael Kors, Newark Airport, Montefiore Hospital, Columbia University, Buckley School, the Libyan Embassy and the SoHo Grand Hotel. We have also worked directly for the Newspaper Guild of New York and a variety of other commercial clients.

Licenses and Certificates

Sean Nolan, the founder and operations director of Streamline Telecom, has been certified as a Registered Communications Distribution Designer by the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI)—the highest standard of certification in the industry.  Click here for more information about our BICSI RDD certification.  Streamline Telecom also holds a New York State Security License, which is required to work on security and access control systems in New York City.  Despite this requirement, many contractors work without this license.

Community Involvement

BWI LogoAs a member of our city’s business community, we believe that it is important for us to find ways to give back to the city and make it a better place.  One of the ways we do that is through a partnership with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI).

The mission of BWI is to help jobless and working poor New Yorkers establish careers in sectors that offer good wages and opportunities for advancement.  For the field of network cable installation, they offer a 6 week intensive hands-on training program that prepares participants for entry-level jobs in the industry.  Job placement assistance is provided to those who complete the training, and Streamline Telecom is proud to employ several graduates of the program.

For more information about BWI and the training programs they offer, visit their website at www.bwiny.org.
